We Are the Skippack Lions
Serving with Pride Since 1953
For more than 108 years (Lions International Founded in 1917), Lions locally, regionally and globally have been recognized throughout the world for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Back in 1925, when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become “Knights for the Blind”. She could not have possibly imagined the impact of the Lions commitment to blindness prevention. The Skippack Lions Club has been serving the Skippack community since 1953. Here are just a few organizations that we support, contribute to or provide at no cost to our Skippack community every year:
- Skippack Lions 5K and Fun Run the Benefits Diabetes Awareness
- Leader Dog Program for the Blind
- Local Food Banks and Community Organizations
- Local College Scholarships
- Pennsylvania Lions Hearing Research
- Lions Eye Bank of the Delaware Valley
- Skippack Fourth of July Parade
- Diabetes Awareness – Philadelphia Region 14A
- Beacon Lodge Camp for the Blind in PA.
Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. The 1.4 million members of our volunteer organization in 48,000 clubs over 200 countries and geographic areas are different in many ways, but share a core belief – community is what we make it.
